Early this winter, as Live Wright prepared for our big "Dallas Pays It Forward" event at the House of Blues Dallas, we met Annalise Bush - young, bright-eyed, and full of life. And though she was ready to sing to the world, she was still finding her footing and discovering the message behind the words behind her voice.

Now, half a year later, we catch up with Annalise again. And to our delight, we find in the place of that young girl, a stronger presence with a new aura of maturity and ambition. Her pop sound now has an indie edge, with scents of jazz and rock. Her natural talent is now embedded into a diligent work ethic. And with the stellar support of Valley Road Entertainment (whom she met through Live Wright), Annalise has made an impressive stride forward - into her new skin, Aprilemade.

Aprilmade is making her debut release TOMORROW (Sept 18th), a five song EP entitled "Bright." This collection of heartfelt songs, along with the album's dewy aesthetics, plays to a very unique sound, mixing the singer-songwriter feel of Ingrid Michaelson and the builds of Coldplay. The album also features a duet with American Idol contestant, Tim Halperin.

A few words from the artist herself:
Who is your inspiration?
I would say Brooke Fraser would be one of my biggest influences. Her voice is amazing, but what really intrigues me is her character. It shines through everything she does.
How has Valley Road helped you? How did they change your perspective re: your singing career?
They've taught me many things: maturity, is a big one, and that's there's more to the music business than just music. They also wrote the songs off of my debut EP "Bright" alongside of me. They've shown me that if you want to be an incredible artist you have to be motivated 24/7. It's not a day to day "if I feel like it" career. It's something you have to work at but also love working at.
Where did "Aprilmade" come from? What else do you want us to know about this album?
I started off doing worship music and decided in April 2012 that I could have a bigger influence in Secular music - hence, aprilemade! :) The album will make you smile, dance, and make you feel. It has such a different sound than I ever expected when I first started writing. But I LOVE the way it turned out and I hope you do too.
What is "Bright" about?
Bright is all about finding confidence in yourself to take the risk that would make your dream a reality.
What advice to you have for others pursuing their dreams?
Don't stop chasing your dreams until you get there. And once you do, make up a new dream and pursue that. In all, NEVER. STOP. DREAMING.
