GREG BARNHILL is a singer/songwriter who has written for everyone from Etta James, Martina McBride, and Jessica Simpson to Chicago, Tim McGraw, Lee Ann Womack, Leona Lewis, Tony Bennett, etc. “Walkaway Joe,” recorded by Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley, earned him a Grammy nomination. “All the money in the world can't buy the feeling I get when I'm singing. I go someplace else in myself when I'm performing. I'm still amazed at how music takes over… at the whole process, from inspiration to the finished product. It's all a miracle to me.” CLICK HERE to see Greg's performance This week, Legacy Series brings you:
J MACK SLAUGHTER JR is a medical student at UT Southwestern, as well as founder of Music is Medicine, a non-profit that pays it forward by donating instruments and teaching time to teenagers spending time at children's hospitals. MIM facilitates productive escapism during treatment time that would otherwise be spent simply waiting to be released. “I create music and facilitate music education in hospitals because I have seen first-hand how powerful music can be during my own mother's chemotherapy sessions. It brings fullness to my heart to be a part of that experience for other patients.” CLICK HERE to see J Mack's original song After the Rain |
